Fiberglass Grating Products

Fiberglass Grating is the product of choice where corrosion resistance is paramount and high impact resistance is important. Fiberglass Grating is manufactured in a one piece construction process by interlacing pre-wetted glass reinforcing strands in a liquid resin matrix within a given configuration. Fiberglass Grating is ideal when you require a product that is highly resistant to corrosive environments, fire retardant, non-conductive, light weight, low maintenance or architecturally attractive. Power Engineering Co. distributes fiberglass grating and pultruded FG. American Grating provides full engineering and fabrication capabilities.

Fiberglass (FRP) handrails and stairtreads also available. When compared to steel, this product is very lightweight and can be made with a grit surface for enhanced slip resistance Once the resin matrix has cured, the molded grid is removed from the mold. The one piece construction insures that all glass is impregnated with resin. Strength: Interwoven square mesh construction offers bi-directional strength. This construction allows for increased loading versatility when compared to rectangular mesh. The uniform placement of the continuous glass strands during construction provides superior strength. Corrosion Resistance: MG should be the product of choice for severe corrosive environments. Fabrication Features: In areas that require circular cuts or areas to be field cut and fabricated, molded square mesh offers great versatility and will often eliminate the need for additional support for cut edges. Another feature is its easy adaptability to evaluated floor systems through use of special leg pedestals. The pedestal flooring system helps compensate for an uneven sub floor or slope. Safety Surface: Molded Grating offers an outstanding skid resistant concave surface as an option. A molded-in grit surface is also available to provide sure footing for worker safety, yet its non-porous qualities help eliminate bacterial breeding areas in food applications.

High quality, well designed, pultruded grating, which resembles metal bar grating, is stronger, lighter, equally corrosion resistant, and in most cases, is less expensive than molded grating. Additionally, pultruded grating comes in larger panels and can be built to custom panel sizes. In most applications, pultruded FG will represent the best product and the lowest price. MFG has equal strength in both directions and is made with square or rectangular grid patterns. Since it was developed much earlier than pultruded grating, it is widely used and performs well in many applications.

Rounding out and complementing our line of grating products is FG. Both molded and pultruded panels are available in stock sizes, or fabricated per customer plans and specs.

Available in either standard concave or optional grit-top walking surfaces, MFG offers outstanding skid-resistance for added worker safety. SPECIALLY FORMULATED RESIN MIXTURES ARE COMBINED WITH CONTINUOUS FIBERGLASS STRANDS, OR ROVINGS, ON MANUFACTURING HIGH PERFORMANCE MOLDED GRATING. Molded grating is available in either square or rectangular mesh, providing optimal customer selection.  A premium product, molded grating combines fiberglass rovings with thermosetting resin to form a strong, one piece molded panel.  Significantly lighter than metallicS, MFG is easy to install.  The square mesh pattern of molded grating allows efficient cutting of the panels so that a variety of flooring layouts can be accommodated with a minimum of grating waste.  Rectangular mesh molded is often used for walkways and trench covers in many industrial applications.
